Give Floor Plans A Facelift With Interactive Content
Have you given your floor plans much thought lately? Most home shoppers find themselves in search of a new home because they have outgrown their space, making it a very important first stop in the home shopper journey. Shoppers could find themselves at a crossroad without the right information to make a decision. Any friction points encountered on their journey could mean an early exit in the process that sends them to another builder.
So how do you engage home shoppers and help them understand spatially what your homes have to offer? We’ve uncovered a few tricks to reduce friction and help shoppers take the right path – one that leads to a new home sale!
Interactive Floor Plans
If you offer structural options, an interactive floor plan designer should be at the top of your wish list. The ability to add and adjust options on a floor plan is one of the biggest advantages of building a new home versus a used home. Interactive floor plans make this optionality more readily available. It also has the added bonus that shoppers typically have to add their email address to save their built plan, generating a very high quality lead for your sales team.
Real Time Tours
Real time tours have the distinct advantage to bring concepts to near real life through virtual reality. Instead of looking at a 2D floor plan with suggested option changes floating off to the side, a real time tour allows home shoppers to toggle through available structural options in real time. This not only gives them a visual of the space with or without the additional sitting area, or the add-on outdoor kitchen- it helps them visualize life with the added space. We all know that creating a personal emotional bond with an idea always leads to a justification of cost.
3D Floor Plans With Hotspots
Did you know that you can add hotspots to a 3D floor plan? 3D floor plans are a great way to highlight features of a plan that can be less than obvious on a 2D floor plan, like a beautiful window over the sink. You can amp up their effectiveness even more by adding hotspots that allow home shoppers to click to reveal a 3D photo-real rendering of the kitchen or link to a virtual home tour. Have a gourmet kitchen? This is a great time to highlight some of the space-saving cabinet built-ins that make cooking a breeze.
Add Dimensions To Your Floor Plans
While not interactive, we thought we’d give you a no-brainer that anyone can implement. If you are still using 2D floor plans whether black and white or color, add the dimensions to your floor plans. At the very least, dimensions give shoppers a frame of reference to compare rooms in their existing home. It’s also easy to whip out a measuring tape to get a visual idea of what eight feet looks like versus ten.
